Comments:
I got a deal on some vintage SW and a damaged tauntaun
was one item in the lot. I repaired the damaged hand with superglue
and Sculpey. Then I painted the entire thing a medium gray and proceded
to dry brush the belly white and back a dark gray. The horns and
nails were painted an off white and added a brown wash. The snout
was painted a pink flesh color and also got a brown wash. The saddle
is made from and old rag and the straps that hold it on are old
shoelaces. I drilled a small hole on the tauntaun's left side, just
below the saddle and above the rear leg, so it is possible to snap
on a Hoth backpack to the animal. The bit is a toothpick and the
rein is a piece of thick string. I added a bedroll and accessories
to the back of the saddle and, lastly, some stirrups made from some
thin wire.
