Came across this odd little house on Precinct St. in Middleboro, MA. Look at all that corrugated metal roofing and siding! Talk about a makeshift construction. Seems to have been abandoned this year with good reason, because it’s pretty beat up.

The Auburn Street bridge originally built in 1790 and consistently updated until being closed and mostly dismantled in 1995. Read a more concise history here. Now the area and portion of the street are part of the Great River Preserve.

This was the Bridgewater Highway Department’s old abandoned salt shed. It apparently became a great place to start fires and eventually burned down a couple years ago. Read all about it at the Wicked Local article.

This is 480 Titicut Street, Bridgewater, MA. I must have unknowingly ridden my bicycle past this house over 100 times. It was well hidden in overgrown forest just 50 or so feet from the road in the middle of no-man’s land between unused farmland, forest, Taunton River marsh, and Bridgewater State Hospital Prison property. Then one day somebody decided to cut all the brush back and lo and behold there is was! According to online real estate sites, this house was built in 1960 on a small vegetable farm and was last sold in 2006 for the sum of $1. Who knows the story behind this wreck?
